Culross Pier

The village of Culross lies on the North Shore of the Firth of Forth, between the Kincardine Bridge and the Forth Bridges. Culross Pier is located in the heart of the village, accessed through the playing fields and across the railway tracks.

The stone part of the pier is currently being restored by the local Community Trust and is connected to the mainland by a wooden walkway. Watch for the step at the inshore end of the wooden pier.

Historically, the pier was used for the export of coal and salt, and the import of various products for local consumption.

After reconstruction by the local Community Trust, the pier has begun to welcome some leisure vessels from nearby marinas.

The entire area dries and is not well charted, so it is highly advisable to visit at low water to observe any navigational hazards before attempting an approach.

A visit to Culross is highly recommended as it is a great example of an early Royal Burgh, with attractive buildings dating back to the 16th century. The charming nature of the village has made it a popular filming location.

Facilities include many tourist attractions, with B&Bs, pubs, and a small convenience store. The local park is excellent for small children.
