Description

At the Eastern end of the village of Linekilns, there is a small slipway in front of the 81st Fife Sea Scouts building. Ownership of the slipway is uncertain, but nearby buildings are used by Limekilns Scout Group.

Located around 2.5 nautical miles upriver from the Forth Bridges, Limekilns Scout Slipway is on the Northern shore of the Firth of Forth, close to the dockyard at Rosyth.

The slipway is of concrete construction and runs across the beach, extending towards the mud flats. It is only accessible towards the top of the tide as the solid surface does not extend far onto the mud.

The slipway is most suitable for hand-launched boats due to the buildings at either side near the top. Parking is available further along the foreshore or along nearby roads.

The slipway is located close to Capernaum Pier, which is the home of Forth Cruising Club, so facilities are available within a short distance.

The village of Limekilns is well served with cafes and pubs, but you will need to venture further afield for shops and fuel.

Club
